WebMeet: meeting rooms in the browser
Video meetings in the mould of Webex or Microsoft Teams, with nothing to install. Every room has a collaborative whiteboard you can load documents onto, and every meeting leaves behind a pack of what was said, drawn and decided. A set of maths tools makes it a natural home for online tutoring.

How it works
WebMeet runs in any modern browser on a self-hosted LiveKit media server. Simulcast, VP9 and AV1 codecs, speaker detection and selective subscription keep video and audio steady in large meetings, and several people can share their screens at once. Rooms sit behind OIDC sign-in with per-room access control, guests are clearly badged, and anyone whose connection gives out can dial in by phone.
Inspired by La Suite Meet, I sat down and worked on a prompt to develop a whole meeting system for my wife's tutoring, and also meetings for a charity I volunteer for and much more: a whiteboard that holds real documents, tools for teaching maths live, and a record of every session that the host can download afterwards. The interface is written in British English throughout, and the look can be rebranded with a single stylesheet.
What is in a room
Collaborative whiteboard
Pens, highlighter, shapes, arrows and text, drawn live by everyone in the room, with undo and keyboard shortcuts for every tool.
Documents on the board
Load a PDF, Word document, PowerPoint deck or image as the background and annotate over it. Multi-page files turn page by page, and notes stay with the page they were written on.
Maths tools
A ruler, compass and protractor that measure as you draw, plus graph grids, coordinate axes, triangles and parallel lines, all snapped to a consistent grid.
Presenter view
When the presenter zooms, pans or turns a page, everyone follows, so the whole room is always looking at the same thing.
Polls
Ask a question with a handful of answers and see the results come in live. Closed polls are kept with the meeting.
Q&A
Participants post questions and upvote the ones they want answered, and the host marks them off as they go.
Breakout rooms
Split the meeting into smaller rooms, assign people to them, and call everyone back when time is up.
Recording and transcription
Record a session and get a transcript with each speaker separated, plus an AI summary of what was discussed.
Meeting packs
After the meeting, download one zip with the chat log, every whiteboard, poll results, transcripts, summaries and recordings. Useful as lesson notes or minutes.
Chat and reactions
In-meeting chat alongside the call, with reactions and raised hands so nobody has to talk over anyone.
